Getting Ready

This week, I attempted to contact several early childhood professionals via email. I attempted to contact the following professionals:

Mrs. Eva-Hammes-DiBernardo -German National Committee for Early Childhood Education

Mrs. Bimbo Are -Ajoke Intermnational School -Nigeria

Ms. Blesilda Rios-Center for Early Childhood Care and Development -Philippines

I have had no response as of today from these individuals. I was really hoping to be able to interact with a professional, but unless i hear back from one of them soon, I will be taking part in the alternative to part 1.

For Part 2: I have chosen to delve into the Harlem Children's Zone Website for this course. After looking through several different sites we could choose from, this one really caught my attention. I work in a lower-income school and many of these children come from low-income families also. It also covers a wide age-range of children which I am also interested in. I really feel that I can not only get information from this website that I can use, but it can broaden my understanding of inner-city education and youth.

  1. Hi Rachel,

Good luck for you, hopefully your emails will get some response from the professional contact you choose.

I still waiting some response too, but luckily one of my colleague in my country is willing to be the contact person.

  2. Hi Rachel, I’ve watched a documentary on The Harlem Children Zone. Geoffrey Canada has done a marvellous job with the school and encouraging the children to do their best. I believe Geoffrey Canada is a true pioneer in the education field. You have encouraged me to join this website.

    Thanks,

  4. Hello Rachel,
I also have decided to speak with professional abroad too. How do you know the people you have chosen? I do not know anyone from outside the US. I am having friends contact people they know and then getting back to me with names and contact information of people that would have time. You are ahead of the game because you have people's names and info. I hope you get the chance to open dialogue with your chosen professionals.
